What we have done to make this site usable by everyone, what we know is not yet right, and how to tell us when something is in your way.
What is in place
- A skip link and clear headings. Every page starts with a "Skip to content" link and uses headings in order.
- Labelled forms. Form fields have visible labels and validation messages say what went wrong.
- Photograph descriptions. Photographs we place on pages carry a description of what they show.
- It works small. The layout adapts from phone to desktop widths.
What is not right yet
Listed here rather than left for you to discover.
- Not independently audited. The site has not been audited by an accessibility specialist or tested by someone who uses a screen reader daily. Until it has, we do not claim a WCAG conformance level.
- Motion. Some decorative animations and sliders may not stop for people who have asked their device to reduce motion. This is on our list to fix.
- English only. Much of the community this charity works with speaks Swahili first. A Swahili version is planned, written by a person rather than machine-translated.
- Payment pages. The payment page is hosted by Selcom, so its is outside our control. If it blocks you, contact us and we will take the donation another way.
Tell us
If something on this site stops you doing what you came to do, please write to info@zaratanzaniacharity.org and say what you were trying to do and what happened. You do not need to know the technical reason. We aim to reply within ten working days.
If you cannot use the donation form for any reason, contact us and we will take the donation another way. Nobody should be unable to give because of a page we built.
